How to ensure alarms ring reliably every time
Android includes battery-saving features that can occasionally pause notifications when your phone is stationary. Follow these 3 simple checks to guarantee your medicine reminders sound on time:
Allow Exact Alarms
Open your phone's Settings → Apps → DoseTracker → Alarms & Reminders and make sure Allowed is turned on. This lets DoseTracker wake the screen on schedule.
Keep Notifications Enabled
Ensure notifications are toggled on in Settings → Apps → DoseTracker → Notifications. Check that notification volume is turned up so you can hear the chime.
Set Battery to Unrestricted
In Settings → Apps → DoseTracker → Battery, select Unrestricted. This prevents Android from putting the app to sleep during overnight hours.

Reminders & Schedules
Why didn't my reminder ring at the exact minute?
If an alarm is delayed by a few minutes, Android's battery optimizer may have placed the phone in deep sleep (Doze mode). Follow the 3-step checklist above to set battery usage to "Unrestricted" and enable exact alarm permissions.
How does the Snooze feature work?
When you tap "Snooze" on a reminder or from the Today screen, you can delay the notification by 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. The app sets a fresh reminder without marking the dose as taken.
Can I set as-needed (PRN) medications?
Yes! When adding a medication, select "As Needed". These medications won't ring automatic alarms, but remain accessible in your Today dashboard so you can record doses whenever you take them.
Profiles & Family Care
How do I add a family member or pet?
Tap the profile avatar icon in the top header and tap Add Person. You can enter their name, choose an avatar color, add a photo, and specify whether they are a parent, child, or pet.
How will I know if someone else's dose is overdue?
The profile switcher at the top displays a red alert badge with the count of overdue doses. Tapping the switcher lets you jump directly into that person's schedule to confirm their medication.
Can I archive a profile after a treatment finishes?
Yes. Inside People & Profiles, select the person and tap Archive Profile. This pauses all their reminders while keeping their historical records safe on your device.
Supply & Refill Alerts
How does DoseTracker know when I'm running low?
Every time you tap "Take Dose", the app subtracts that dose from your current pill count. When your remaining supply falls below your warning threshold (e.g. 5 pills), a gentle refill warning appears on the card.
How do I update my supply after picking up a refill?
Go to the Medicines tab, tap on the medication, and tap Refill Stock. Enter the new number of pills to reset your inventory in seconds.
Privacy, Lock & Deletion
Can I lock the app with my fingerprint?
Yes. In Settings → App Lock, turn on biometric authentication. The app will require your fingerprint, face recognition, or device passcode every time it is opened.
How do I permanently delete all my information?
Go to Settings → Erase all data and confirm. This permanently purges all profile records, medicines, history, photos, and alarms from your phone.
Do you have access to my prescription list?
No. DoseTracker operates 100% offline with zero cloud servers. We have no access to your medications, names, schedules, or health records.
